René van der Vegt

René van der Vegt is an expert in wholesale electricity and gas markets in northwest Europe. From 1998 – 2006 he served as managing director of the trading division of REMU and subsequently Eneco. As such he was responsible for the sourcing, trading and risk management of the energy portfolio and assets.

Since 2008 René van der Vegt is an independent consultant, amongst others responsible for the commercialisation of the Bergermeer Gas Storage and its related transport tariff regulations.

Rene van der Vegt holds an M.Sc. in Geology from the University of Utrecht (1988) and an MBA from the University of Bradford (1993). He also studied at Harvard Business School (2000).

René van der Vegt cooperates as associate consultant with D-Cision since 2010. His strengths lie especially in the field of risk management and asset evaluation in the wholesale energy markets.
